Drugs and weapons at Creamfields target to police

CHESHIRE Police will target festival goers carrying drugs and weapons at this year’s Creamfields.
The dance music pageant, which attracts 100,000 fans to Daresbury Park, takes place next weekend and officers are keen to make it a crime free accident.
Hundreds of police officers across the county, including the Western Rural unit, will patrol the two day festival and annual leave has been cancelled across the weekend.
Music fans and campers will be checked by sniffers dogs at the access to the site, as police target would be criminals.
Insp Giles Pierce said: "Searches are a condition of entry and drugs dogs will be used at the admittance to the site.
"Anyone found with drugs or weapons, having not placed them into the pordon bins which will be provided at the admittance to the access arena, will be dealt with by police.
"A number of measures have been put in place by the pressure to deal with any incidents of crime and derangement while the festival is in progress.
"Police will take positive action against anyone absorded on committing a crime, or being included in crime and disorder, so as to maintain the good nature of the event that we have seen in previous years. Police will also patrol the huge camping area surrounding the main arena.
