Creamfields dance festival in Daresbury

FAKE tickets could pose new headaches for police at this weekend’s Creamfields festival it was revealed.
Because the 60,000 tickets for the Bank Holiday weekend are now sold out the only time it has happened since 2000 officers from Cheshire Police are on red alert to catch those who try to get inside the Creamfields site in Daresbury with forged tickets.
Creamfields arrangers said there was grounds that fakes were still being sold by unauthorised online outlets.
Each ticket will be scanned at the entrances and those found to be forged will be forfeited and those carrying them will be declined entry.
A spokeswoman for Creamfields said: “The festival is sold out, so please don’t try and buy tickets from unofficial sources.
“If your ticket doesn’t scan, then you won’t get in and you’ll have lost out on over £100”.
Over 500 police officers will be on responsibility at the Halton site between Saturday and Monday for the longest event the force polices.
Rigorous searches will be in place at the entrances to forfeited any weapons and drugs after knuckle dusters and knives were forfeited last year.
