Is still uncertain the fate of Creamfields 2009

No date scheduled, the fact is that at this point it is uncertain whether the festival will take place or not. City Government said, “To provide it's impossible the allotments to meet the original date (Saturday, 7 November)”
Arrangers still do not provide official information to clarify the situation, For their part. Although it is expected that on Monday the company will issue a statement with the final decision.
It all began on Wednesday when the city’s government denied the company Edil Way SA authorization to carry out the festival at Club Gimnasia y Esgrima de Buenos Aires (GEBA). The government considers that the company was in breach of current regulations regarding permits.
One of the main problems was the lack of a sketch detailing the distribution of the public. Also staff of the Governmental Control Agency found that tickets were sold online even without enabling permissions.
In turn the Association of Friends of Palermo Lakes questioned the city government for allowing the progress, as the Parque Tres de Febrero is a Historic Protected Area and a Neighborhood Park District.
For many years the organization of Creamfields in Buenos Aires was in charge of Martin Gonta, who was featured on the British film magazine DJMag as an “alchemist” of today’s electronic scene because he is “the most powerful man in South American dance music.”
His organization is a huge production work: not only related to the allotments, security and controls, but also because the festival receives important foreign DJs. Perhaps their names are not popular, but they move masses, as Orbital, Armin Van Buren and David Guetta, among many others. Many of these DJs will also participate in Creamfields Chile, which is announced for Friday.
On Internet forums, fans of this music were stunned. Many were shocked by the carelessness of the organizers and others criticized the venue.

Creamfields Bag Calvin Harris

Currently riding high in the UK singles charts Calvin Harris has been unveiled as one of the headliners for this year's Creamfields event.

Hailing from Dumfries in Scotland, Calvin Harris first stormed the charts with his retro hits 'Acceptable In The 80s' and 'Girls'. With chunky beats and an ego bigger than Neptune (does he really get ALL the girls?) Harris was an irresistible pop sensation.

Now returning with his new single 'I'm Not Alone' Harris has moved in a trance direction. The track opens with a gently plucked guitar before transforming into a full on face-melting rave out. Currently at number one in the charts, it will no doubt end up soundtracking the summer for a good many people.

Taking place over the August bank holiday weekend, this year's Creamfields promises to be one of the best to date. The event has already announced some stunning headliners including Dutch DJ Tiesto, 2ManyDJs and much more.

Returning dance heroes Basement Jaxx will play a celebratory set, part of a packed summer schedule that sees them traverse the country. Joining the duo will be the like of Laurent Garnier, David Guetta and much more.

Calvin Harris will be overjoyed to discover that he is on the same bill as Dizzee Rascal. The pair had a massive hit last summer with 'Dance Wiv Me' and already there are rumours of a possible live team up at the event.

In a statement Calvin Harris said "it's a pleasure to finally be part of Creamfields, I've always wanted to play. It's going to go off!”

Creamfields 2009 gets go-ahead for Daresbury in Cheshire

THE UK’s No1 dance festival Creamfields, which takes place on August Bank Holiday weekend, has been granted its licence at its festival site in Daresbury in Cheshire.

Halton Borough Council granted the license for the world famous music event at its regulatory committee meeting last night.

The festival site in Daresbury has been home to the award winning festival since 2006, which saw Creamfields move from the Old Liverpool Airfield site in Speke.

This year’s line up includes Basement Jaxx, Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Dizzee Rascal, Calvin Harris, Mylo Live, David Guetta, 2manydjs Live and Deadmau5 to name a few.

Event manager Jim King from Loudsound said: “We are happy that Halton Borough Council have granted the premises licence for Creamfields for the fourth year running.

“We are looking forward to continuing the excellent working relationships with Cheshire Police and the local authority to ensure that this year’s Creamfields is a success.”

2008 saw Creamfields become a two day camping show which attracted more than 65,000 people, generating £7.2 million to the local economy and was one of last years festival highlights.

Whilst the UK festival remains its flagship event, Creamfields remains the only festival concept that has successfully been established in the global market.

This year will see Creamfields stage 10 festivals around the world including Argentina, Portugal, Romania, Brazil, Czech Republic, Spain, Mexico, Russia and entering new territories in Malta and the Ukraine

For a limited period, all weekend and camping tickets are priced at £100 plus booking fee, on sale now at http://www.theonlineticketshop.com/festivals/1569/creamfields-festival/creamfields-festival-tickets.htm

Crowds flock to Creamfields event

Thousands of people have flocked to Cheshire for the Creamfields festival.

The two-day dance music extravaganza, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, is being held at Daresbury near Warrington.

The star-studded line up includes Fat Boy Slim, Pete Tong, Kasabian and Beth Ditto's band Gossip.

About 40,000 revellers attended last year's event where 22 people were arrested for various offences such as drug possession and drink-driving.

However, Cheshire Police, which has about 800 officers on the site, said reported crime at the 2007 event had dropped by about 80% on the previous year.

Traffic management

Insp Debbie Dodd said: "We have had in-depth discussions with the organisers of the event, the two local authorities and the Highways Agency and produced a detailed traffic management plan.
"This addresses the fact that extra people will be travelling into the area, the likelihood of any congestion on local roads and what plans are in place if there is a major incident on any roads."

Drivers in the local area are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to be alert as the roads will be busier than normal.

A number of roads in the locality will be partially closed through to the end of Sunday, although residents will still be able to gain access to their homes.
Shuttle buses
Warrington Road will have partial closures at both ends, Daresbury Lane will be closed after the south car park and Delph Lane will also have partial closures.
There will be no left turn off the A49 at the Cat and Lion into Hatton Lane and Keckwick Lane will be closed completely.
There will also be a partial closure off the A56 Chester Road at the junction with Newton Lane. At this junction, drivers will be able to turn right into Newton Lane but will be unable to turn left towards Daresbury village.
Shuttle bus services are running throughout the weekend from Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn.

Protesters unable to stop Creamfields

The Creamfields dance festival will take place as planned on the August Bank Holiday weekend (26-27) in Daresbury, Liverpool despite protests from a neighbouring council about noise levels.

During a meeting at Runcorn Town Hall last night (June 27) Warrington Council argued against an application that requested use of the land for the festival.

The councillors said that having the festival in the semi-rural location would lead to unacceptable levels of noise and increase crime and anti-social behaviour.

Julian Wrigley, one of the objectors who lives a mile-and-a-half away from the site said: “I believe the proposed event and the influx of people on such a large scale has the potential to do untold harm to the community. We have nothing against Creamfields, but it is a Merseyside-based commercial operation. Do they really care about the area in which we live, other than as a site for this event?”

However, the application was approved. Organisers hoped they could make Daresbury the new permanent home of the festival, reports Liverpool’s ’Daily Post’.The festival was moved from its original location at the former Liverpool Airfield site in Speke as it is now being re-developed.Bands set to play at the event include Gnarls Barkley, The Zutons, Goldfrapp and DJ Shadow.

Festival to finish at 0200h

A festival which will be held at the Gianpula nightclub on August 15 will have to finish by 0200h the next morning, after the Court turned down a request for an appeal to be heard with compulsion.
The Creamfields Malta festival, which is being held at the Gianpula Fields, limits of Rabat, was set to begin at 2000h and finish at 0400h.

However, the police only accepted the event to go on until 0200h, and an address filed at the police board of address was turned down. The police bureaucrat maintained that during the Moby concert, which was held in the same location on June 28, the police accepted a number of complaints from near by residents.

The club’s owner, Roger de Giorgio, took the case to Court, asking for the case to be heard with compulsion to accept for the event to last until 0400h in the event of a favourable Court decision.

This request was, however, abjure by Mr Justice Joseph Camilleri on Wednesday.

On the event’s website, the club’s arranger had already announced that the festival will now open 2 hours former, at 1800h, to attach to the permit.

“Due to circumstances beyond their control, the arranger would like to announce a change in this year’s Creamfields Festival schedule. The shift relates to a decision by local authorities to change their policies in respect to limit the permit of one-off events to 2 am,” the statement reads.
